Building on a Foundation
of Repeat Trust

The Jordan Islamic Bank building in Amman is a major banking facility constructed by CEC for one of Jordan's most prominent Islamic financial institutions. Following CEC's earlier delivery of the Union Bank Main Branch & Head Office, this project represents a continuation of CEC's relationship with Jordan's banking sector — a sector where contractor selection is driven not only by technical capability but by a verifiable record of discretion, precision, and on-time delivery across previous engagements.

While the Jordan Islamic Bank building shares much of the same technical scope as CEC's other banking projects — secure vault construction, customer-facing banking halls, executive office space, and resilient building services — it carries its own distinct architectural identity, reflecting the bank's brand positioning within Jordan's Islamic finance sector. CEC's role was to translate the design team's architectural vision into a constructed reality without compromise, while meeting the same rigorous operational and security standards expected of any banking headquarters.

For CEC, repeat engagement across multiple banks in the same sector is one of the clearest indicators of consistent quality. Financial institutions conduct extensive due diligence before appointing a main contractor, and a contractor's track record with previous banking clients carries significant weight in that process. The Jordan Islamic Bank project stands alongside the Union Bank Head Office as evidence of CEC's established position as a contractor of choice for Jordan's banking and financial services sector, backed by the company's First Grade classification in Building Construction.

Engineering Challenges of Bank Building Construction

Constructing a building for a major bank involves a recurring set of technical demands that require careful planning and specialist coordination:

  • Secure cash and vault areas: The building's vault and cash-handling areas required reinforced concrete construction to specific structural tolerances, with access routes, ventilation, and security conduit runs all coordinated around the vault manufacturer's installation requirements.
  • Customer-facing finishes under brand standards: The banking hall's flooring, wall finishes, counters, and signage all had to meet the bank's corporate brand specifications precisely, requiring close coordination with the client's design and procurement teams throughout the fit-out phase.
  • Resilient power and IT infrastructure: Banking operations cannot tolerate downtime, so electrical distribution, backup generation, and IT/network infrastructure were designed and installed with full redundancy to keep the branch and its systems operational at all times.
  • Phased handover for operational continuity: Coordinating the construction programme so that sections of the building could be fitted out and commissioned in sequence, allowing the bank's operations team to begin equipment installation and staff onboarding ahead of full project completion.

Scope of Work

CEC's construction scope on the Jordan Islamic Bank project encompassed structural construction of the building shell and core, followed by a comprehensive interior fit-out programme covering the banking hall, back-office and operations areas, executive floors, and all supporting building services. This included mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, fire protection and life-safety systems, vertical transportation, and the secure construction of the vault and cash-handling areas. CEC coordinated closely with the bank's specialist suppliers for security systems, IT infrastructure, and branded finishes to ensure a fully integrated handover.

Quality & Safety on Repeat Banking Sector Projects

Having previously delivered the Union Bank Head Office, CEC applied the same disciplined quality management framework to the Jordan Islamic Bank project — documented inspections at every structural and MEP milestone, independent testing of concrete and finishes materials, and a snagging and handover process aligned with the bank's own facilities management requirements. This consistency across multiple banking sector clients is central to CEC's reputation: each successful handover reinforces the confidence of the next institutional client considering CEC as their construction partner.
